DR Horton Openings Exhibit Area Optimism

In a move heralded as a demonstration of northern Nevada’s industry resiliency, D.R. Horton, America’s Homebuilder, is announcing the opening of two new communities in the Reno area’s Cyan master planned community.
D.R. Horton has been building livable and affordable homes across the nation for over 30 years, and has become known for building homes that meet a high standard of energy efficiency.
While the old real estate adage cites “…location, location, location” as the three most important things in real estate, D.R. Horton’s success has incorporated not only location but quality, livability, and more—features that will be exemplified at the two new communities near Damonte Ranch.
“Heritage” is located in the beautiful South Meadows area of Reno, and is surrounded by the area’s majestic mountain vistas.  The views within the community are breathtaking, and are ideally suited to the year-round lifestyle northern Nevadans have come to expect.  Healthy living options abound in Heritage, and include a 14-acre community park with sports fields, basketball courts, a trail system, and shopping, dining and recreational opportunities.  Three well-planned two story home designs are offered, with sizes ranging from 1,507 to more than 2,100 square feet with as many as five bedrooms and three baths.
“Legacy”, also in the Cyan master planned community, will also feature the fine attention to detail and livability that will be found at Heritage, but will encompass more living space.  With plan designs from 1,902 to 2,650 square feet, homebuyers at Legacy will enjoy a choice between four one-and two-story homes with as many as six bedrooms and three bathrooms—ideally suited to today’s lifestyle.
Locally, D.R. Horton homes have been awarded numerous “Governor’s Awards for Energy Efficient Construction.”  The new communities—Heritage and Legacy—will be built to similar high standards and will incorporate many energy-saving innovations and features.
The building community is excited about the optimism shown by D.R. Horton as they stake a claim on pent-up market demand for a new housing product.  “While there’s still a ways to go before we’re out of the woods, these new homes will represent job opportunities for hundreds of local tradesmen and suppliers,” stated Mike Dillon, Executive Director of the Builders Association of Northern Nevada.  “It’s a trend we’d all like to see continue.”
