Builders Association Names New Board Members
by Bobbie Merrigan, Builders Association Charity

The Builders Association Charity recently named three new board members to its distinguished Board of Trustees.

Chad Felix was born in 1976 and is a second generation Nevadan.  He graduated from Proctor Hug High School in 1994 and attended both TMCC and UNR.  Chad began his career at Western Title in 1995 when he accepted a position as the company’s runner.  Since then, Chad has held many positions within the company.  He was a Recorder, Customer Service Representative, Customer Service Manager, Sales Representative and just 18 months ago, took over as Regional Sales Manager.  Chad is an active member of BANN, YPN, NAIOP and the Nevada Discovery Museum.  He was instrumental in the planning and execution of the recent “Western Title and Friends Charity Golf Tournament”. The event was held at D’Andrea Golf Club with all proceeds benefitting the Builders Association Charity.  Chad enjoys camping, water sports, golf and many other outdoor activities.  His “willingness” on behalf of this charity is both rare and much appreciated.

Carol Lopez has been involved in New Home Sales for the last 26 years.  She has been married to Tanamera’s Joe Lopez for 27 years.  The couple has resided in Reno since 1997.  They have three daughters, five grandchildren and another on the way.  Carol has been a member of BANN for 11 years and chaired the Sales and Marketing Council for nine years.  She is responsible for the successful execution of several of BANN’s BANNER Award Events.  She is the owner of two home based businesses, www.silverpeaktravel.com  and www.water4greathealth.com.    Carol enjoys golfing, kayaking, great movies and parties.  Carol was instrumental in the success of the Charity’s “Be Wine Valentine” Event in February.  She will be a huge asset for the charity.

Johnny Olivas is a 1991 graduate of Elko High School in Elko, NV.  After serving a few years in the United States Navy, Johnny moved to Reno and attended the University of Nevada Reno.  Since 1999, Johnny has been involved in the contracting and building industry from installation to sales.  He is married and has a son.  He currently works for New York Life Insurance Company and focuses on working with privately held companies in the building industry utilizing tax-advantaged business insurance strategies.  His hobbies include spending time with the family, golf, camping and being involved in the community.  Johnny’s financial prowess will be a huge asset to this growing board.

As we welcome these individuals to the board, we look forward to a better, brighter tomorrow for those in our community!  Together we can accomplish anything.
